Here's our kitty cat! Her story started at another home where she lived with 8 other cats and some other animals. When our company office found traces of mice, the office manager asked her friend if she could borrow one of the 9 cats to keep away the mice. She became our office cat. Not having had any pets growing up, I shyed away from getting attached to the cat. I also didn't want to have to clean the kitty litter :-) But Nightingale insisted on jumping on my desk and curling up in my lap. It's as if she sensed that I was the least interested in her and I was a challenge for her to get me to like her. Well, I did, how can you not like a big furry kitty who purrs when she curls up on your lap.

So eventually she became 'my' cat, everyone in the office called her 'Kim's cat'. We brought her home twice over Thanksgiving breaks so she wouldn't be alone for several days at the office. When the time came for me to move on professionally, everyone agreed that I should bring her home permanently, so I did. She made this her home quickly and by the second night slept on the end of our bed with us. She is very happy and so are we! :-) So enjoy these pictures and movies.

Cat in the hat, well, cat in the basket: This basket is only 13 inches wide and Nightingale is a 14 pounder :-) but she manages to curl up in there, when she really tucks in her head, you can't tell one end from the other!

Her "she knows she isn't allowed on the kitchen table but does whatever the heck she wants" picture.

She likes to climb, jump and sit as high as she can.

Here is a cute movie of Nightingale!
