New Pictures

April 13th, 2006

We’ve got lots of new pictures up on the website.  Brayden had a visit last weekend by his Mass aunties, Dani & Sara.  This weekend his uncle Chris and cousin Anth are visiting.  We are all doing well!

According to my scale, Brayden has broken into the 2 digit weight category, topping off at 10 pounds!

1 Month Old

April 19th, 2006

Today Brayden is 1 Month old!  His Dr. appointment went well, he is very healthy!  Guess my scale was a little off, he weighed in at 9lb 10oz and 22 inches long, he is 50% for weight and 75% for length.  We are excited for ‘Ol Nana’s visit next week!

2 months

May 22nd, 2006

Brayden had his 2 month Dr. appt today! He is a whopping 12lbs 7 oz! and just shy of 2 feet long! he is in the 75% on the charts.  He is a great baby.  He just started sleeping through the night, and has recently figured out that his hand is attached to him and that his fingers are fun to suck on!  He also smiles and coo’s a lot!  More pics are up in ‘May’

3 Months!

June 19th, 2006

Yikes, Brayden is 3 months old today!  He is topping the scales around 13.5-14lbs and is a solid 2 feet long.  He has outgrown so many clothes and is mostly wearing 6-9mo onsies!  He has mastered finger sucking and is getting better with tummy time, he can hold his head up a lot longer now.  He loves books and being read to.  And he just started laughing!  We’ve put him in the saucer playcenter and he’ll sit there for a while.  He loves his ‘gym-mat’ and bats at the toys that hang above.  On his bouncy seat, he can grab the handle on one of the toys and make it play a song.  It’s amazing how much control they start getting at this age.  Tom and I are loving every moment! (especially the moments when we don’t hear him until 8am after going to bed at 11, hehe! :-)

4 Months!

July 23rd, 2006

Brayden is now just over 4 months old.  At his check up, he weighed in at 15 pounds and 25 1/2 inches.  He now puts everything he can in his mouth, toys, bib, fingers etc.  He is a drooling machine too :-) He is a lot better coordinated with his hands and can play with his toys a lot more now.  So, all in all, he is a great boy, if I do say so myself! :-)

5 Months

August 24th, 2006

Well, 5 months has come with a nice surprise…Brayden can now sit by himself…now, he still topples over now and again and I only let him sit on the bed, so when he does topple, it doesn’t hurt!  We’ve also embarked on cloth diapers, he doesn’t seem to know the difference, lucky for me! He’s up to about 16 1/2 – 17 lbs, it’s hard to tell, my scale is off by about half a pound.  He’s been on his first camping trip and loved it, he didn’t need any entertaining, the natural surroundings were enough to keep his senses fullfilled!  Then he spent his first week at Deep Creek Lake, he hated his life vest, but loved boat rides, after enjoying the wind blowing on his face, he would fall soundly asleep.  That’s about it!

6 Months

September 19th, 2006

Sept. 19, 6 months since Brayden was born, I can’t believe it!  He had his Dr. appt. today and weighed in at 17lbs 12 oz and is roughly 27 1/2 inches long, though he’s hard to measure bcz he moves around so much!  He is a very happy boy and has started to get up on his knees and rocking back and forth, which sent us straight to the kitchen to start babyproofing!

Kim on the Ellen Show

September 19th, 2006

I emailed the Ellen show last week about something funny that I saw and on Monday she read my email….she says my name and where I’m from and then she read it!  I don’t even watch every day and just happened to decide to watch on Monday.  I nearly fell out of my chair when she said my name and read my email! We hope to get it off our friends DVR and get it on the website…stay tuned!

The video is now on the front page of the website….just click on “Kim on the Ellen Show” and it will pop up.

7 months

October 26th, 2006

Oct. 19 Brayden turned 7 months.  He thinks he is He-Man and pulls up on anything he can, the crib works best, so we had to lower the mattress to the lowest setting so when he’s standing he doesn’t fall out!  He has also figured out how to get from all 4’s to sitting up, this is a handy trick.  I’ve only seen him crawl backwards.  His first word…well…does…Babababa count?  He also loves screaming at the top of his lungs…ouch..my ears!  He is doing well with his solids/mushy food and is topping the scales right around 20lbs…ugh is he heavy!  He is also in the ‘big boy’ car seat.  Guess that’s about it…well..that is a lot…he is hardly a baby anymore!
