15 months

Tuesday, June 19th, 2007

Brayden is 15 months today..he had his Dr. appt. last week and was 23 pounds…and 32 inches tall…he is growing well…I keep getting comments that he is an ‘old soul’ and hardly acts like a toddler…though I would disagree at times! He keeps eating well…he loves Kashi cereal and any fruit…and surprisingly yellow beans (thanks to nana who introduced them to him) now we’re just waiting for some real words…he can babble plenty, but we have no idea what he’s saying!

1 Year!

Wednesday, April 4th, 2007

Ok, so I’m about 2 1/2 weeks late writing this, but here it is!  Brayden has turned 1  He started walking about a month ago and it’s his main form of entertainment now.  We can actually take walks outside.  He is a great boy with a happy demeanor, couldn’t have asked for a better year!

11 Months

Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

Wow, what a day February 19 was, Brayden went from 11 months to a new man in one day!
He started clapping, waving, babbling up a storm, he can now turn around and go down the stairs (though I still stay with him, just in case!)  He is also walking between pieces of furniture or from holding onto the wall to me a few feet away, but hasn’t gotten up the courage to actually walk across a room yet! More in a month!

10 months

Tuesday, January 30th, 2007

Whoops, 10 months slipped by, not much new this month, Brayden did take his first unaided steps on Jan 14, just 5 days before his 10 mo bday.  He only took about 3 steps, but he did it again a couple more times that day.  He is very good at walking around while holding onto things like furniture and can move from one thing to the next, but he is still hesitant about letting go…we bought gates, just gotta install them now!

9 months

Friday, December 29th, 2006

Wow, I know I say it every month, but I really can’t believe 9 months have flown by, I am going to blink and Brayden will be a year! His 9 month Doctors appointment went well, he is just over 20 lbs and almost 29 inches, which is right in the 50-60% ballpark, nice and average! He is a curious monkey now, crawling around everywhere, pulling up to stand on everything and investigating all things! He went on another plane trip , this time to NC to see Nana, he had a great time! His first Christmas went well, his favorite toy/activity was taking mega-legos out of the bin and throwing them on the floor! That’s about it for now!

7 months

Thursday, October 26th, 2006

Oct. 19 Brayden turned 7 months.  He thinks he is He-Man and pulls up on anything he can, the crib works best, so we had to lower the mattress to the lowest setting so when he’s standing he doesn’t fall out!  He has also figured out how to get from all 4’s to sitting up, this is a handy trick.  I’ve only seen him crawl backwards.  His first word…well…does…Babababa count?  He also loves screaming at the top of his lungs…ouch..my ears!  He is doing well with his solids/mushy food and is topping the scales right around 20lbs…ugh is he heavy!  He is also in the ‘big boy’ car seat.  Guess that’s about it…well..that is a lot…he is hardly a baby anymore!

Kim on the Ellen Show

Tuesday, September 19th, 2006

I emailed the Ellen show last week about something funny that I saw and on Monday she read my email….she says my name and where I’m from and then she read it!  I don’t even watch every day and just happened to decide to watch on Monday.  I nearly fell out of my chair when she said my name and read my email! We hope to get it off our friends DVR and get it on the website…stay tuned!

The video is now on the front page of the website….just click on “Kim on the Ellen Show” and it will pop up.

6 Months

Tuesday, September 19th, 2006

Sept. 19, 6 months since Brayden was born, I can’t believe it!  He had his Dr. appt. today and weighed in at 17lbs 12 oz and is roughly 27 1/2 inches long, though he’s hard to measure bcz he moves around so much!  He is a very happy boy and has started to get up on his knees and rocking back and forth, which sent us straight to the kitchen to start babyproofing!

5 Months

Thursday, August 24th, 2006

Well, 5 months has come with a nice surprise…Brayden can now sit by himself…now, he still topples over now and again and I only let him sit on the bed, so when he does topple, it doesn’t hurt!  We’ve also embarked on cloth diapers, he doesn’t seem to know the difference, lucky for me! He’s up to about 16 1/2 – 17 lbs, it’s hard to tell, my scale is off by about half a pound.  He’s been on his first camping trip and loved it, he didn’t need any entertaining, the natural surroundings were enough to keep his senses fullfilled!  Then he spent his first week at Deep Creek Lake, he hated his life vest, but loved boat rides, after enjoying the wind blowing on his face, he would fall soundly asleep.  That’s about it!

3 Months!

Monday, June 19th, 2006

Yikes, Brayden is 3 months old today!  He is topping the scales around 13.5-14lbs and is a solid 2 feet long.  He has outgrown so many clothes and is mostly wearing 6-9mo onsies!  He has mastered finger sucking and is getting better with tummy time, he can hold his head up a lot longer now.  He loves books and being read to.  And he just started laughing!  We’ve put him in the saucer playcenter and he’ll sit there for a while.  He loves his ‘gym-mat’ and bats at the toys that hang above.  On his bouncy seat, he can grab the handle on one of the toys and make it play a song.  It’s amazing how much control they start getting at this age.  Tom and I are loving every moment! (especially the moments when we don’t hear him until 8am after going to bed at 11, hehe! :-)
